PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL REGLAZES ARE CARRIED OUT AT THE CUSTOMER'S OWN RISK OF FRAME OR LENS BREAKAGE. FOR MORE INFORMATION, PLEASE SEE OUR TERMS OF USE PAGE.
PUPILLARY DISTANCE (P.D.) MEASUREMENTS
Generally, in Hong Kong, your optometrist or medical practitioner will provide your Pupillary Distance (P.D.) measurement, along with your written/printed prescription. If we cannot see this on your prescription when you email it to us in order, please do not panic!
-
You can contact your optician for the P.D. measurement and they may or may not be able to supply it to you.
-
If the frames that you wish to have lenses put into are your own glasses, (including lenses), that you have been using without any problems, then we can take the P.D. measurement from these lenses.
-
If you have a spare pair of glasses that are in good condition, with both lenses still in the frame and you are able to live without them for a couple of days, you can choose to send these along with your order for verification. PLEASE ENSURE YOU TELL US WHICH FRAME YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE REGLAZED IF YOU DO THIS.
If you live in Hong Kong, we offer a concierge optical service for our customers. Please email us to arrange an appointment and we can take your P.D. and any other required measurements personally.

ARE YOU QUALIFIED TO SELL PRESCRIPTION LENSES?
At Spexalicious, we understand the apprehension of having your frames reglazed over the Internet. However, all orders are checked by our U.S. Board Certified Optician, both prior to manufacturing and when they are received back from the laboratory. This is in contrast to many online and retail optical establishments throughout the world, who do not employ qualified staff and have dubious quality standards. All orders are checked to U.S. ANSI Z80.1-2015 Standards.
WHERE ARE YOUR LENSES FROM? DO YOU HAVE A LABORATORY?
Our lenses are produced in Mainland China, with the resin material that they are manufactured from coming from China, Korea, Japan or Taiwan, depending on the type of lens that you have selected. They are then glazed into your frames at our family owned and run laboratory in Hong Kong. As a responsible optical retailer, we always ensure that our products are of the highest quality and expect the same from our suppliers.
ARE YOU ABLE TO SUPPLY PRESCRIPTION SPECTACLES FOR CHILDREN UNDER 16 YEARS OF AGE?
Yes! If you are resident in Hong Kong, we offer our Spexalicious Kids' Vision service, which is a specially designed concierge dispensing service for children and teens, provided by our U.S. Board Certified Optician. Please click here if you would like to know more about how this works.
As a responsible optical retailer, we are unable to provide spectacles for children who are under sixteen years of age solely on an online basis.
HOW DO I OBTAIN MY SIGHT TEST PRESCRIPTION?
It is the obligation of an optometrist or medical practitioner who tests your vision to provide you with a prescription. You are under no obligation to purchase lenses, frames or complete pairs of spectacles from the practitioner who undertook your sight test, so please do not feel pressured into doing so.
DO I NEED TO SEND YOU A COPY OF MY PRESCRIPTION?
Yes, please! Although some of our competitors feel that this is not necessary, we believe that we would not be a responsible optical retailer if we did not ask for a copy of a current, valid sight test prescription. Please simply email us a scanned copy or photo of your prescription, along with your name and address, to contact@spexalicious.com after you have placed your order and as requested in the confirmation email.
CAN I USE MY CONTACT LENS PRESCRIPTION FOR MY NEW LENSES?
Unfortunately, a contact lens prescription is entirely different from your spectacle prescription and so it would not be possible to order replacement lenses with this. If you are wearing contact lenses supplied by an optometrist or medical practitioner, it is highly likely that they will also have undertaken a full sight test. Please ask them for a copy of your latest sight test prescription.
WHICH TINTS DO YOU OFFER?
Single vision, bifocal and progressive lenses can all be ordered with a tint or with photochromic lenses that change colour when outside or, in the case of ‘Drivewear’ lenses, in a car. Polarised lenses that reduce glare and mirror coated lenses are also available, which are also classed as tinted lenses. Please see individual product descriptions for tinted lens availability or email us if you have a question regarding tinted lenses: contact@spexalicious.com.
ARE YOUR LENSES MADE FROM GLASS OR PLASTIC?
All lenses listed on our website are made of plastic material only. We are able to supply certain glass lenses, however, these would be treated as special order and priced on a case-by-case basis. Please email us for more information: contact@spexalicious.com.
